I was born in Switzerland to German parents. I have always felt like a European citizen and found Switzerland always a bit ‘tight’. After I graduated I came to Siena to study Italian at the ”University for Foreigners”, and then I enrolled in Modern Literature at the University of Siena. After my studies I started to work as a tour guide.
I have lived with my husband and two children in Maremma for many years now. It was clear that my passion would reawaken and, after a long break of motherhood, I started work again as a tour guide. With joy I try to transmit to our guests my love and my passion for this land!

I was born in Monaco and grew up in Germany, southern Tuscany and India. I now live with my husband and my two children in Maremma, our home for more than fifteen years. Probably it was my destiny. When my mother was in the last stages of her pregnancy carrying me she was on vacation here and a small Maremma mouse passed over her back and frightened her: within a hairs breadth I could have come into to the world here.

My love for this beautiful landscape, the art, the history, the life of every day – of the past and today – and not least the love of the people, was my motivation and reason to complete the training as a “City Guide”.
For me it is always a great pleasure to show visitors something of “my” Maremma!

Born in 1974 in Austria, I came the first time to Florence during the study exchange program “Erasmus”. Inspired by the “Italian flair” I moved further to do my thesis in Tuscany, more precisely in the Maremma Natural Park. Since I was in the southern Tuscany I never left and now for many years I have been living here with my family. My training, first for nature and hiking guide and now also as a tourist guide, deepened my love for this country. I’m happy to show you during my trekking tours the versatile and unspoiled nature of the Maremma in southern Tuscany.

Born and raised in southern Germany I came to Italy with youthful verve and cheerfulness … and despite all the crisis I was here and I did not lose my enthusiasm and my curiosity. I actually wanted to “pull the oars”, as the Italians say, and retire, but still I cannot.

The Maremma is so fascinating, I love my job so much, and want to continue sharing it with others.

The other day, coming back from Florence with the splendid works of art still in my mind, I got off the train in Montepescali and I was almost speechless at the beauty of the amazing views. Vetulonia on the hill opposite and the avenues of dark pines against the red brilliant evening sky to the sea: my thoughts were that these scenes were at least as good as the paintings in the Uffizi. Is it possible that after all these years that I still am amazed by the beauty of this land?

So I continue to keep my eyes and ears open – as at the conference on the music of the Etruscans – to share with you tips to make your holiday in Maremma unforgettable!
