The South of Tuscany has different wine producing areas, each one offering different types of wines like: Morellino di Scansano (D.O.C.G.), Montecucco (D.O.C.G.), Monteregio di Massa Marittima (D.O.C.), Parrina (D.O.C.), Bianco di Pitigliano (D.O.C.), Sovana (D.O.C.), Capalbio (D.O.C.), Ansonico Costa dell’Argentario (D.O.C.), Maremma Toscana (I.G.T.), Toscano o Toscana (I.G.T.), Brunello di Montalcino (D.O.C.G.), Bolgheri (D.O.C.).
These are DOCG wines (Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin) or DOC wines (Denomination of Controlled Origin) which follow scrupulous rules of production. Some are also I.G.T wines or so called “Super Tuscans”.
